    The first film ever made was in 1888. It was a huge deal to the public as it was the first moving picture(film) they had ever seen. The film was a bet that horse's hoofs don't come all the way off the ground when the horse gallops.

Silent Films where the first ever videos that where most like our movies today(as in that it tells a story). The first Silent Film aired in 1903 and was called "The Great Train Robbery".

    Charlie Chaplin was a famous actor and starred in many silent films. He started his career in 1915, but his last film was in 1967 "A Countess From Hong Kong". If you go back and watch silent films, you will see that he is in most of them.

    In 1935 films for the first time had color added to them, anything before this was in black and white. To add color it was a 2 color process, in which those colors would come together and mix to make even more colors. The first color film was "The Wizard Of Oz".

    In the 1940s was hollywoods peaking point. It was when they started making a lot of money and was probably the most profitable times. This was most likely due to sound and color coming into films.

This was a huge step in film history as before everything was hand made and now they had a way to express even more of their ideas through using them and where able to innovate films. The first film with special effects is "Le Voyage Dans La Lune".

    In 1964 was the first film that used animatronics. They where used to create a new character that might have not been possible to make with a human, for example, like a shark like jaws. The first film with animatronics is "Mary Poppins".
