    a nickelodeon is a small theatre where you would pay 1 nickel and get to see a short film. these theatres would also have live vaudeville skits that people would participate in.

    the film industry moved to los angels to get away from the movie patent production company that was trying to take their equipment. there was also better lighting and weather on the west coast, and if the MPPC showed up they could drive to Mexico to escape.
