    After a bet Eadweard Muybridge took pictures of a galloping horse to prove that all four of the horses hooves came off the ground. He had arranged the cameras along a track parallel to the horse's path. Muybridge used 24 cameras. In this test he proved the beat true and found that when you flip the pictures they look like the action.
