Early beginnings
Enzo Ferrari was born in Modena on February 18th 1898. He devoted his entire life to designing and building sports cars both for road and track. -
Enzo and his discovery of passion for racing
Ten-year old Enzo and his brother were brought by their father to a racing event in Via Emilia in Bologna. This inspired Enzo to one day enter the world of motor sport racing. -
A difficult decade
The Ferrari family is hit by a tragedy as both Enzo's brother and father pass away. This event made Enzo give up on his studies and work as an instructor in the lathing school. -
Enzo in the military
Enzo serves in the Italian army during the first World War. But his illness had him undergo two operations and being honourably discharged. -
Enzo's job as a test driver.
Enzo attempted to find a job at Fiat but to no avail. However, he did become a test driver at a small company in Turin that sought after Torpedos built on a light truck chassis. -

Enzo moves to Milan to work at C.M.N as a test driver then later as a racing driver. -
From driver to entrepreneur: The Scuderia Ferrari is founded
In the 20s, Enzo started his racing career in a 6-litre, 4-cylinder Alfa Romeo Tipo 40/60. -
The birth of Scuderia Ferrari
In 1929, Enzo founds the Scuderia Ferrari in Modena. -
Alfa Romeo: A Spell as Sporting Director followed by an abrupt departure
Enzo completes his final race as a driver in the Circuito Tre Province on August 9th 1931. He finishes second in an Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 MM. -
Enzo's departure
On Sept. 9, 1939, Enzo Ferrari leaves Alfa Romeo under the proviso that he does not use the Ferrari name in association with racing or racing cars. -
The War interrupts racing but 1947 brings the first Ferrari
Auto Avio Costruzioni builds two versions of what Ferrari calls the 815 on a Fiat platform for the last pre-War Mille Miglia. -
The first Ferrari
Ferrari begins working on designing the first Ferrari in late 1945. His ambitious plan is to power it with a V12 engine. The reason Ferrari chosen a V12 was its versatility. -
Ferrari takes the Racing World by Storm
In the 50s, Ferrari becomes world Champions for the first time thanks to Alberto Ascari. -
Ferrari is now an internationally renowned marque
Ferrari becomes a Limited Liability Company and Enzo is conferred with an Honorary Degree in Mechanical Engineering. -
The Fiorano Circuit is built
Enzo Ferrari decides to build the Fiorano Circuit which will be officially opened on April 8th, 1972. -
The F40: His Final Car
The F40, the last car comissioned under Enzo, is unveiled. The University of Modena confers Ferrari with an Honorary Degree in physics. Enzo Ferrari passes away at the age of 90 on August 14th.
