    Planet Accretion

    Planet Accretion
4.6-5 billion years ago, the solar nebular around the Sun was a cloud of dust. As the gas making up the solar nebular beyond the Sun cooled with time, gravity pulls the mineral grains to condense and aggregate together to form the Earth over millions of years.

    Core Formation

    Core Formation
The core formed during accretion, as the metal from impactors sank through a magma ocean to the center of the Earth. Liquid metal in contact with liquid silicate equilibrated at high pressures and temperatures, resulting in the core and mantle compositions that we see in the Earth today.

    Formation of the Moon

    Formation of the Moon
The moon was formed ~4.4 billion years ago, about 100-130 million years after the origin of the Solar System, out of debris thrown into orbit by a massive collision between a smaller proto-Earth and another planetoid, about the size of Mars.

    Planet Cooling

    Planet Cooling
About 4.4- 3.8 billion planetary cooling formed the planet into a molten planet. Clumps of asteroids, meteors, and comets helped formed the planet into a shpere. There were volcanic eruptions as well which contained magma . The magma then hardened which created Earth's outer core.

    End of Heavy Bombardment

From about 4.5, failed planets and smaller asteroids slammed into larger worlds, scarring their surface. Near the end of the violence at 3.8 billions years ago, during a period known as the Late Heavy Bombardment, impacts in the solar system may have increased.
