    Mickey Mouse - Steamboat Willie was one of the first sound cartoons ever made and the first Walt Disney film. It was the first Mickey Mouse cartoon ever published with Mickey Mouse in it.
  • Colossus is first used in WWII

    Colossus is first used in WWII
    Colossus, more commonly known as Tunny to those who worked with it was released in 1941. Colossus Mark 1 was first working properly however in December 1943. It happened in Britain to support the British army during WWII. Tommy Flower was the engineer and builder behind the very first computer. It was a very important moment in the history of computers because it was the very first computer to ever be made and used.

    The Magnavox Odyssey was the first video game and console to be released on the market for ordinary people to buy. Before then computer games were only invented by Univercity students for big Univercity computers. It was made by Ralph H.Baer. It had 12 games on it, including Ping Pong, hocket and football. It started to be manafactured on 27th January 1972 but wasn't released till that May.

    The ZX80 was released in 1980. The ZX80 was very popular and for several months there was a waiting list. The actual machine was desgined by Jim Westwood and the company it was founded by was Science of Cambridge. There were two types of machines, on that was £78 and you designed yourself and one that was just under £100 that was already made up. It was founded in USA.

    On the 20th November 1985, Microsoft (a company formed by Bill Gates and Paul Allen) shipped the first version of Windows – Windows 1.0. This started in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. It was a very significant moment as people relied on typewriters at work and hardly anyone had heard of microcomputers.

    AOL (America Online) sent the first instant message in USA by Ted Leonsis to his wife and it read 'Don't be scared... its me. Love you and miss you.' he later got a reply saying 'Wow this is so cool.' Leonsis later became the vice-president of AOL.

    Linked in wsa founded in 2003, in Santa Monica, California US. It was founded by Reid Hoffman, Ric Ly, Allen Blue, Jean-Luc Valliant and Konstantin Guericke. It is an online business social-network; a bit like facebook for businesses.

    YouTube was founded and launched for the first time. The first video was 'Me at the Zoo'. It was founded in California by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim.

    Trivago Launched
    In 2005, Trivagoi was launched by Peter Vinnemier, Malte Siewert and Rolf Schromgens in Dusseldorf, Germany. It has around 45 million users a month and its parent is Experdia.com. In December 2012, Expedia.com bough 61.1% of trivago.

    On the 21st March 2006 twitter was launched for the first time. The founders of the social networking site were Evan Williams, Noah Glass, Jack Dorsey and Biz Stone. It was founded in San Fransisco. Twitter is one of the top ten visited sights and someone described it as 'the SMS for the internet'.

    Instagram was first launched in 2010 by Kevin Systrom and Mike Kriger. It is avaliable in 25 languages and by December 2010, it had 1 million users. It shares photos with the world and is one of the biggest social media websites. It uses a polaroid like lay out.
  • First Driverless Car

    In May 2012, the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicales a Toyota Prius modified with Google softwear. This was the first license issued for a driverless car. In May 2014, Google produced a new prototype and in the beginning of 2015, they were going to test it in the San Francsico Bay area. It was first unvieled in the US.

    Tumblr was founded in early 2007 and is a bloggins coail media platform. On 20 May 2013, Yahoo! announced its intensions to buy Tumblr and on 20 June 2013, the deal was closed. Yahoo! eventually bought Tumblr for $1.1 billion dollars.

    Pre-ordering for the apple iWatch started on 10 April. It comes in three models, the WATCH, the WATCH SPORT, and the WATCH EDITION. The entry price is around £300, up to the most expensive of £13,500.

    Rumours on the apple iPhone 6s/7 have been circulating. Apparently it could come out mid September of this year. People think that it will have the same model as the iPhone 6 and 6 plus as they have only just redesigned it. It should cost arround £599. Force touch and better batteries might be included in this phone.
