The five gods of melee is a title given to five individuals who proved themselves superior to all the rest. The first was Mew2king, who won the tournament Pound 3, against 54 other people. -
Melee accepted at EVO
EVO is the biggest fighting game tournament in the world, and allowing Melee to be a part was a massive advancement in the community's progress. -
Super Smash Bros Brawl is released
Anticipations were high in for the sequel to melee, but players seeking new competition were very disappointed by the game. -
The final god
After Mew2kings debut, four more people were given god status: Mango, Hungrybox, Armada, and lastly, PPMD, whos breakout tournament was RoM2. -
Smash 4 releases
Most players who played melee, stayed in melee during brawl, and for the most part that remained the same here. -
A titan taken down
ZeRo, a smash 4 player, had a 53 tournament win streak! Nairo was the one to break it. -
Smash Ultimate is released
Quite possible the most hyped game in the series, Nintendo finally took notice of the competitive community and made a game not only fun at parties, but also advanced and fast paced so pros could enjoy it as well. They have been updating the game constantly for about a year and it has been so successful that even some melee players joined in. -
First character dlc release
Nintendo announced additional fighters would be joining the battle post-release, and on April 17, Joker from persona 5 arrived. -
Present day
Challenger pack 1 has been wrapped up, and the first fighter of Challenger pack 2 is coming in June. Hopes for the future remain high, and Smash is doing the best it ever has.
