A war that had been fought between Qing Dynasty and Meiji Japan over the control of the Korean peninsula. Meiji Japan defeated the Qing Dynasty even when they were outnumbered 3:1, and had assumed control over Korea and other islands that previously belonged to Qing Dynasty. -

The Chinese Nationalist Party was founded under the vision of Sun Yat-Sen, who planned to overthrow the Qing Dynasty, and build a republican government. -

The loss of Sun Yat-Sen was a critical hit to the Nationalist party, as they lost their leader. Later, the lack of a good leader causes the defeat against the Communist party. -

The may fourth movement was a protest against the Chinese government due to a weak response to the treaty of Versailes. This resulted in the upsurge of nationalism. -

After a long civil war, the Communist party defeated the Nationalist party and assumed control over Mainland China. -

The first major engagement of the Nationalist party and Communist party of China had occured in order to stop the Nanchang Uprising, which was caused by a rebel Nationalist party member. -

On september 18, 1931, the japanese planted a bomb in modern day Shen Yang. When the bomb was detonated, the japanese blamed the Chinese for chaos and the Japanese quickly took over the city of Manchuria. -

The second united front was the treaty between the Communist Party of China and Kuomintang during the second-sino war or World War II, this brought along a cessation of the civil war from 1937 to 1946. -

Nationalists Move To Taiwan
When the PRC was found by Mao Ze Dong, the remaining members of the nationalist party were forced out of China and had to move to Taiwan.
