In 1791 this act was passed. Britain divided the colony of Quebec in 2 separate colonies. Upper Canada was located in present day Southern Ontario and Lower Canada was located in present day Quebec. Upper Canada remained with its British culture/law and lower Canada was able to keep its French Culture/law. -

On July 1sr, 1867, the constitution Act was put into law creating a new country. the country is known was Canada. Canada consisted of 4 provinces. these provinces are Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Manitoba, later also became a province on June 12th, 1870. Treaty of Versailles was put into place after World War One. It forced Germany to admit that they were at fault for World War One. As part of there responsible they had to pay back all damages done during the war. They also lost quite a biy of the prewar territory. The Germans where humiliated and not happy with the new boundries. -
