French Forces
French forces occupy Rio De Janerio harbour. Two years later in 1557, Portugal regains control and establishes the city of Rio De Janeiro. -
Brazil's Independence
Brazil gains independence from Portugal. Pedro 1, the son of Portugal's King established Brazilian Empire. The people of Brazil celebrate Independence day each year on Sepetember 7th. -
