Guglilmo Maconi was the first person to invent a radio. He was an an Italion inventor and discovered this around the year of 1895. Inprovments of this first radio signal was shortly done after. -
Audion Tube
Lee de Forest invented the tube amplifies signals. This basically became shoulders of electronic devises. An audio tube helps amplifie one signal to another which helps with radio. -
The Titanic
The titanic was not just a famous film back in the 1900's. This film had a lot to do with the radio activity in a bout out at sea. As the Titanic ship was sinking, the captains let off a radio signal that saved many of the passangers lives. -
KDKA
KDKA is a radio station based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This was the first radio station. It is owned and operated by CBS radio. KDKA has been arounf for 93 years. -
Uncle Charlies
Uncle Charlies is not only a name but its also a name for a radio staion run by a person, a personal radio station. You have to have the knowledge and money to create your own station, anybody can do this if they have theses qualities. This also includes bradcasting. -

WEAF is the radio company that advertised the first commercial. The adverstisment was about Queensboro Corporation. This was an apartment Complex area. -
Federal Radio Comision
This was a governament body created by Uncle Charlies. Made for advertisments. This was a great source of money. -
Call Letters
Call letters are a sequence of identifying code used mainly for radios and TVs. It is not known who first started this code, letters W and K help doing so by many commercial stations. W means east of the Mississippi river and K means west of the Mississippi river. -
Music
Along with all the advertisments that came along with radio, music began to come with it all. Both AM and FM both have music playing now that people ove. Many different types of artisits are played during this. -
First FM radio
The first radio station was invented around Janurary 1, 1939 by Edward Armstrong. what makes an FM radio different from any other radio is that with this, you can change the station conviently from AM to FM with no trouble. AM and FM radios are not the dame, they each specialize in different things. -
Transistor
This device was invetned by John Bardeen, Walter Brattain, and William shockely created this. semiconductor peice of equitment that has three connections. The capable of amplification, and the rectification. -
Gunsmoke
Gunsmoke was the first show that was completely broadcasted on the radio. After this became a radio hit, they then tranfered it to the Television. This was an adult show. -
Boom Box
The boom Box is a portable radio that you can carry jusy about everywhere. Miles Lightwood is the one who created this. The boom Box has both FM, AM, and XM if made correctly. -
Radio City Music Hall
Radio City Music Hall is Locatd in New York City. This is a big tourist attraction because of what the place provides. This is a big eterntainment venue. -
AM radio
AM radio also stands for amplitude modulation. This means that the formation is changing of the radioactive waves. Now, many people prefer to use FM radio though because that is the kind of stuff they are interested now because it offers different things then AM.
