    The building of the Pyramids of Giza was finished between 2589 and 2504 BC by thought to be over 100,000 laborers building it. 2.3 million limestone rocks were used to build these pyramids each weighing in at 5,500 lbs. It is not entirely clear why it was built, but it did hold tombs of the pharaos.
