    The Thaumatrope

    1) The zoetrope is a cylindrical spinning device with varying frames around the object. When the zoetrope is spun the images move quickly in a circular motion to create the illusion of moment. It was created by William Horner.

    1) The flip book was created in 1868 by John Barnes Linnett. It featured a small booklet with flimsy pages that could flip easily. An artist draws slightly varying images on each page so that when the pages are flipped the illusion of animation is created.
