This event is important to me because I remember watching the video in Lapos class last year and i was horrified of what I saw. I was scared and i was thinking that it can happen in any high school. Also in 6th grade when we have the bomb scare it reminded me of the Columbine Massacre which affected my life because i remember being scared for my life. -

9/11 Attack
The importance of this event was when the twin tower was attacked by terrorist. This event is important to me because it happened when i was in the Philippines while the rest of my family was in the United States. I didn't know if they were okay or if they got attacked. All i know was the United States just got attacked. I remember being scared and worried about them. However, the next day my family called saying they did not get hurt. -
War in Afghanistan
The war in Afghanistan is important to me because till now the war isn't over. Having friends and family in the military makes me worry that they can get deployed at any day. Also my sister has already been deployed once, i don't want her to leave again. Therefore the war in Afghanistan is a big impact to me and a significant event to my family and I. -

The capturing of Saddam Hussein is important to me because he was a killer and his reign of killing innocent lives has finally came to an end. I don't like knowing that innocent people are dying in cold blood which is why capturing Saddam Hussein is important to me. By capturing him, he can no longer hurt anymore people. Which makes the world a little bit safer and for me to be worried free about him attacking the US . -

The launching of facebook is important because it's a technology that has become part of my generation. It is a way to communicate with people all over the world. It makes it easier to send out information or talked to a relative in a different state or country. Facebook has made it easier for people to stay intouch with friends and family. I find this event important especially for me because i can talk to my family back home to the Philippines. -

Global Recession
The global recession impacted my life because thats when unemployment was through the roof. I remember having to move to a cheaper house because my mom didn't have enough money to pay for the house due to the recession. Also alot of my family members was having a hard time looking for a job, especially my brother. This recession is significant to my life because it dramastically changed the ways of living in my house. We needed to cut down on the spending and only buy thing we really need. -
Barack Obama became President
Barack Obama becoming president is important to me because he was the first African-American President in the United States. Which to me indicates that most citizens of America has finally look passed all the segregation and racism but look for the ability of a person. Obama becoming the President is also important to me because he pulled my sister out of the Iraq war by ending it. -
Analog switched to Digital Format
All television broadcasting switches from analog to digital format. This to me is important because the generation I am growing up in is involve in technology. Analog switching to digital format is part of the genaration evolving into a more electronic world. This is what I will be growing up with and what my generation will be known as. It will be part of my life and it is one of the many things that seperates us from the other gerenations. -

Osama Bin Laden's Death
The death of Osama Bin Laden is important to me because we as the citizens of the United States has found the man who killed many lives and trumatied millions of people. I feel safer that one less person will not be a treath anymore, eventhough there is many out there that is trying to attacked the US. We are one step closer to having the US a safer place to be. Osama also got what he deserve for killing thousand of people in the World Trade Center. -
Hurricane Irene
When hurricane Irene happened it was the worst hurricane i have ever been in. I remember being in my sister house terrified because i know my house is located in a flood zone. That day i was thinking that my house just got destroyed. This day is important to me because it not only affected New Jersey but also most of the east coast. This day is significant because of the damage it caused to my house and other peoples property. -
End of the Iraq War
This event is very important to me because my sister which is in the Army National Guard was stationed at Iraq to be a prison guard. Due to this, my sister was able to come back home to us from Iraq because the war has ended. I was glad the war ended before anything bad happened while my sister was serving the Army in Iraq. The ending of the war in Iraq was important to me because i was able to be with my sister again after not seeing her for a whole year.
