    The people knew they were going to start taxing their tea. People didn't like this about the government, so they pretested against this by throwing all of the tea into the harbor.

    The Chambermen road was a turnpike road that stretch across Maryland to Illinois. They changed people a fee to enter and ride as far as one end to the other and get off in between as needed.
  • California Gold Rush

    California Gold Rush
    When gold was found in Coloma California, and this soon became a gold rush to find the most gold for money rather than farmers selling their crops.

    The Panama Canal was made by the failed attempt France made to make the Panama Railroad.

    From December 8th, 1863- April 14th, 1865, was a time of change in all American life. Slavery got ruled out and those who were slaves, got to live a normal and happy life. Learning how to do Americanized things like cook, clean, and work.

    Charles Darwin expressed that the poor will always be poor, and the rich will always be rich. However, he explained that the rich will be able to survive the recession and the poor will not be able to.
  • Labor Day

    Labor Day
    Labor Day was first recognized by the congress in 1894 but originated in 1882. AMericans protested for less hours and more pay as they worked from nothing in heat during long days at work. From this, children still had to work but it was now a law to start at the age 14, no younger. Wages didn't go up, but the bar was set to 8-hour days only. Then Labor Day was created to give everyone the day off to recognize the hard work they still put in.

    Andrew Carnegie was the writer of the gospel of wealth. This stated that all poor and all rich won't have equal benefits, but to donate and create something for everyone to enjoy. Like libraries or parks/ playgrounds for the poor to have access too.

    After the explosion of USS Maine in Havana Harbor in Cuba, the U.S decided to fight back. Gaining all Western Hemispheres which include Cuba, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Philippines to the U.S.

    Was a time when Americans came together to take a uprise in the economy for the better good. Since our governments weren't doing this, we the people had to take the stand.

    Social Justice happened. Children wanted to go to school and not be a working person yet. Bureau of Corporations got involved as it was their job to investigate trusts.

    A time of flappers and bathtub gin. People just lived life until they were broke. A time when tv's and radios were invented. People were living their best lives in the roaring 20's and that's why they call it "roaring".

    The great crash which put Americans into a financially and unstable living situation. Soon, losing their jobs and homes which lead to the Great Depression.

    Many Americans suffered during this time of need. People were losing their jobs, homes, making them homeless and starved. Banks were closing and business started to shut down. This time was not worth living for and it was hard to do even if you had money.

    WW II was a global conflict that struck the nation in full lengths. The Axis powers of Germany, Italy, and Japan fought against the allies of France, Great Brittan, and The United States. These two alliances fought on land, sea, and air all over the globe. 70-80 million people died during this time, making it the bloodiest dispute in history.

    With everyone having to learn what to do when the bomb happens, as no one knew when it was coming unless they got a warning siren. The term "duck and cover" is the name on the cartoon made and shown to children to help them understand what to do in this situation.
  • Civil Rights Movement

    With MLK jr. being the top leader for this movement to go forward, a lot of help from the community was needed. Everyone had to come together in order for this to happen, and it did. African Americans weren't just seen as the colored people, but the people mixed with the whites now too, as one big brotherhood coming together.
