This abolished slavery. -
The 14th Amendment
This stated that people born in the US were all citizens, it also protected these citizens with the privileges and immunities clause. The due process clause was put into place stating that states can not deprive any person of life, liberty, or property without due process. Lastly, it introduced the equal protection clause stating that all citizens deserve equal protection. -
The 15th Amendment
. This stated that the right to vote could not be taken from anyone based off race, color, or previous servitude. It also stated that this was to be enforced. -
The Gospel of Wealth
It was a big idea that changed how wealthy people thought about their money and how they should use it to help society. -
The Pullman Strike
Railway workers protested because their wages were cut and working conditions were bad at the Pullman Company. -
The Spanish American War
The Spanish-American War started in 1898 after a U.S. ship called the USS Maine exploded in Cuba. -

Both Women and African American citizens had no choice but to take on jobs they had never done after so many men went to fight in the war. -
The Roaring 20s
There was a lot of economic growth, new music, and cultural changes. People enjoyed new technology like cars and radios. However, there were also challenges such as prohibition and poverty. -
The Stock Market Crash
This was the beginning of The Great Depression -

During this time, citizens faced unemployment and poverty. There were not enough goods or food being produced. This was a huge domino effect, if people couldn’t purchase goods from manufactures or farmers, they didn’t have the money to produce more. -
FDR's Brain Trust
They helped him develop and implement policies like the New Deal to respond to the Great Depression and its challenges. -
WWII
The the US, Soviet Union, and UK fought against Germany, Italy, Japan. -
Post WWII
Life after the war was much different than before it started. It was full of technological advancement, consumer culture, cultural shifts, and the baby boom. -
Cold War
The US and Soviet Union were in a constant state of possible war fair. -
The Vietnam War
The war between France and Vietnam, the US eventually intervened. -
The Civil Rights Movement
The Civil rights movement was a long fight for African American citizens rights in the US. -
The Space Race
The space race began during the Cold War, following WWII. During this time, the US and The Soviet Union were both in an intense competition to reach space exploration. This came to somewhat of an end after the US sent the first man to land on the moon in 1969.
