A bet of $25,000
An english man named Edward Muy-bridge placed a bet of $25,000 that a horse had all four feet off the ground. In order to prove his bet, he took multiple pictures of a horse running. They saw that the pictures played in fast motion created an illusion of a horse running. -
Eddison's Peephole Kinetoscope
Eddison invented the peephole kinetoscope for people to watch moving images. The peephole kinetoscope was only for one person at a time to pull more revinue. He invented a projector but would not reveal it. -

The cinematographe was invented by the Lumiere borthers of France. The films they showed were from 30-60 seconds long. They were shown in Vaudevill theatres. -
Nickelodeon
It was the new name for vendals because it would cost a nickle. Later Nickelodeon being one of the most popular kids tv channel. It would feature a small film and acts. -
"The Great Train Robbery"
The first narrative flim. Flimed by Thomas Edison comany and directed by Edwin Porter. t was 12 mintunes long and was it an epic of its time. -
Motion Pricture Patents Company
Thomas Edison created the group that owned everything that had to do with flim. If anyone would try to make there own company, he would go after them with this group and destory their equipment and actors. It was on the east coast. -
Cupid Angling
The cupid angling was filmed by Leon Forrest Douglas. He used neutral color. A process he invented. -
The Move to California
Newer industries are moving to the west coast to get away from MPPC and because the weather on the west coast is clearer. If the MPPC would they would could for the companies on the west coast, those companies could go to Mexico. The actors liked going to California instead because they would be credited. -
Early Actors
Two of the earliest actors were Mary Pickford and Charlie Chaplin, with their new found credidation they attracted people to theatres. They had strong influence over the American people. Charlie, for instance did flims about subtle communication. -

It debuted the Vitaphone film. It starred John Barrymore. It was produced bu warner brothers. -

It was called the house of wax. It was an American horror story. It starred Vincent Price.
