    The colonist ignored this and settled anyways

    The colonist thought it was a violation against their rights to be taxed without consent.

    Violent protesters threatened stamp distributors.

    Provided British soldiers with any accommodation or housing.
    Colonist thought it violated their rights again

    Took away the stamp act but introduced the Declaratory act.
    Protesting stopped but no one paid any attention to the new act at first.

    The colonist seen British troops attacking innocent people

    British customs ship ran aground in Rhode Island and the Sons of liberty group attacked and set fire to the ship.

    Boarded the ships dressed as Natives and dumped all the tea overboard

    Colonist were upset because they lost a lot of men

    Olive Branch Petition- Letters to King George III which represents the last attempt by the moderate party in North America to avoid a war of independence against Britain.

    Lost a lot of men but were still confident about their fight.
  • 1776 Decleration of independence

    Gave the colonies freedom from Britain.
    The colonist were really happy about this.
