Foundation
Crystal Palace Football Club, originally nicknamed "The Glaziers", was formed on 10 September 1905 under the guidance of Aston Villa assistant secretary Edmund Goodman. -

First years

Southern League
For the 1905-06 season they played in the Southern League Second Division, they were promoted to the First Division, crowned as champions. They remained in the Southern League up until 1914. -
Football League Third Division
The club joined the Football League Third Division in the 1920–21 season, finishing as champions and gaining promotion to the Second Division. During this period, Palace also won the London Challenge Cup three times in 1913, 1914, and 1921 -
Selhurst Park
In 1924 Selhurst Park was build, the ground the club plays at today.
Finishing in twenty-first position, the club was relegated to the Third Division South. -
Peter Simpson
Peter Simpson scored 46 goals in 42 games, setting a record for Crystal Palace, scoring the most league goals in a season. -
Division Four
The club becomes part of the newly formed Division Four. -
Promotion to Division Three
With Arthur Rowe as a manager, Crystal Palace gain promotion to Division Three in the 1960–61 season. -
First Division
Dick Graham and then Bert Head guided the club to successive promotions in 1963–64 and 1968–69, taking the club through the Second Division and into the First Division -
Division Three
Under the management of Malcolm Allison the club was relegated in consecutive seasons, finding itself back in Division Three for the 1974–75 season. -
FA Cup semi-final
It was under Allison that the club became nicknamed "The Eagles" and they played the semi-final of the 1975-76 FA Cup, beating Leeds and Chelsea along the way. -
Promotions
It was under Terry Venables, the new manager, that Palace were promoted in 1976–77 from Division Three and again in 1978–79 from the Division Two -

After eight seasons in Division Two and under the managment of Steve Coppell. -

FA Cup final
Palace drew 3-3 against Manchester United in the final, before losing the replay 1-0. -
Full Members Cup title
In 1990–91 they achieved their highest league finish, third, and they return to Wembley to win the Full Members Cup. -
Relegation and Promotion
After losing atgainst Arsenal on the final day of the season they got relegated. The next year, they won the First Division title. -
Reaching semi-finals
In 1995 Alan Smith guided the club to the semi finals of the FA Cup and the Football League Cup, but in the League Palace once again found itself relegated, they finish fourth from bottom but Premier League reduced o 20 clubs. -
Back to the Premier League
A1-0 win over Sheffield United in the First Division Play-Off Final, takes Crystal Palace back into the Premier League. -
Back to the First Division
The club was relegated back to the First Division for the 1998–99 season. -

They reach the play-offs and a goal was enough to beat West Ham United and take Palace back into the Premier League -
Premier League
In November 2012, Ian Holloway became the club's manager. He guided Palace to the Premier League after an 8-year absence by defeating Watford 1–0 in the Championship Play-Off Final at the new Wembley.
