On July 4, 1776, the Second Continental Congress adopted what came to be one of Americas most cherished documents. In the decleration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson wrote the reasons for seperating Britain and provided the principals of government where the US would be built. -

The Louisiana Purchase was a bargain made by Thomas Jefferson in 1803. This purchase doubled the size of our nation and caused us to grow economically, politically, and geographically. -
The Lewis and Clark Journey
The Lewis and Clark journey was an expedition to try and discover a waterway to the pacific ocean, and make trade with the Native Americans. Lewis and Clark ended up traveling up the Missouri River, finding a water way to the Pacific. They also discovered over 200 new plants and animal species, and new maps and routes. -
Donner Party
The Donner party was a group of people that traveled west to discover land.This group of people ended up starving/freezing to death which forced them to consider cannibalism. Because of this, 45/85 people survived. -
The California Gold Rush
The California Gold Rush all started with a man named James Marshall who found one nugget of gold near the American River. After this, 750,000 pounds of gold was discovered by multiple people coming from different countries and states to discover gold. -
The Titanic
The Titanic was a big ship that sunk after hitting an iceberg during its first voyage. An estimate of 1,500 poeple died from this shipwreck. -
Charles Lindbergh Flies Across the Atlantic
On this day, 25 year old Charles Lindbergh completed his first solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean. Charles was the first person to take this 33 hour trip across the Atlantic. -
1936 Olympics
At the 1936 Berlin Olympics, Jesse Owens won four gold medals. Jesse won medals by competing in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay, and the long jump. -
WoodStock Concert
The Woodstock Concert is a three day music festival that attracted more than 400,000 people. The woodstock concert featured a lot of popular singers such as Joe Cocker, Janis Joplin, and many more. -
September 11 Attacks
On this day there were four terrorist attacks on the morning of Tuesday September 11th. It was the deadliest terrorist attack in the US. Nealy 3000 people were killed.ss -
