  • Signing of Declaration of Independence

    The declaration of Independence is the statement adopted by the Contiental congress meeting at Philedelphia , Pennslyvania on July, 4, 1776.
  • The Adoption of the Articles of Confederation

    The Continental Congress adopted the Articles of Confederation, the first constitution of the United States, on November 15, 1777. However, ratification of the Articles of Confederation by all thirteen states did not occur until March 1, 1781.
  • The British Surrender at Yorktown

    British General Charles Cornwallis surrendered his troops in Yorktown, Virginia. General Cornwallis brought 8,000 British troops to Yorktown. They expected help from British ships sent from New York.
  • Shays Rebellion: Attack on the Springfield Armory

    When 2,000 farmers attacked the federal arsenal. The government soldiers returned with fire and killed three of the famers which resulted in Daniel Shays to led an insurgent group and rebel against how the merchants were charging them which resulted in them defeat against the government.
  • Constitutional Convention

    The Constitutional Convention took place from May 25 to September 17, 1787 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to address problems in governing the United States of America.
  • The Ratification of the United States Constitution

    The drafting of the constitution began on May, 25, 1787, when the constitutional Convention met for the first time. The ratification was on September 17, 1787.
  • The Ratification of the Bill of Rights

    by three-fourths of the state legislatures, constitute the first 10 amendments of the Constitution, known as the Bill of Rights.
  • Patent issued for the Cotton Gin

    The inventor Eli Whitney made a machine that separated cotton to it was ready to be made into fabric. The machine did not use any elctricity but it was powered by water.

    Lewis and clark Expedition

    Lewis and clark began a 3 year expedition to journey and explore where they have not explored before. They discovered new plants and species of animals on their expedition which helped the United States.
  • First mill built in Lowell, Massachusetts

    The first textile mill in Lowell, Massachussets was called the Boot Mill. This helped many people with fabrics to make clothing and made the economy much better. However more slaves than before had to work to pick cotton.

    Trail of Tears

    Andrew Jackson moved many of the Native Americans out of the east and into the west. On the way to the west many Native Americans died on the trip from many causes.
  • Gold Discovered at Sutter's Mill

    The great and memorable discovery of the California gold was made at Capt. John A. Sutter and James W. Marshall's sawmill, on American Fork River, California.
  • Signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo

    The treaty added an additional 525,000 square miles to United States territory, including the land that makes up all or parts of present-day Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
  • The battle of Fort Sumter

    The bombardment and surrender of Fort Sumter which started the Civil war.Following the declarations of secession by seven Southern states, Sout carolina demanded that the U.S. army abandon its facilities.
  • Battle of Gettysburg

    The battle of Gettysburg was fought July 1-3 , 1863, in and around the town of Gettsburg , Pennslyvania, by Union and Confederate forces during the American Civil War.
  • The battle of little Bighorn

    Battle of the Little Bighorn, known to Lakota as the battle of the Custers last stand.
  • The years of the great depression

    The Great Depression was the worst economic crisis in U.S. history . From 1931 to 940 unemployed was always in double digits. In April 1939, almost ten years after the crisis began, more than one in five Americans still could not find work. On the surface World War 2 seems to mark the end of the Great Depression.
  • Moon landing of Apolo 11 moon landing

    Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that landed the first humans on the moon, Americans Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, on July 20, 1969, at 20:18 UTC, Armstrong became the first to step on the moon.
  • 911

    On September 11, 2015 two airplanes flew into the two world trade centers in New York City and many people lost their lives on this traggic day. The two planes crashed into the building on purpose because osama Bin Laden planned it all. 9/11 is a very important day because of all the lives that were lost that day.
