Foundation
The Mears brothers formally founded the Chelsea Football Club on March 10, 1905 at The Rising Sun pub, currently The Butcher's Hook, in Fulham Road. Shortly after its foundation, they were chosen to participate in the Football League.The club won promotion to the First Division in their second season. -

Modernise of the club
Ted Drake became manager in 1952 and proceeded to modernise the club.A few years later Drake would be dismissed and Tommy Docherty would be his replacement. During the 1960s they failed to be established in any tournament. -
