Medieval Siege
Tartas suffered of many diseases they didn't really know how germs could cause many diseases. They launched dead animals and dead men over the castle walls. Fleeing residents carried the disease to Italy causing the second major epidemic of Black Plague. -
American Revolution
The British military routinely inoculated its own troops against smallpox exposing soldiers to the pus from smallpox. In Boston the mission seems to have failed and it infected civilians. Earlier in the century The British targeted Native Americans in an infamous case of 1763. -
World War One
By World War One scientists understood how microbes such as bacteria convey disease. They targeted livestock they injected animals to carry around the disease and they ship it out to neutral countries. Agents were impacted on what was going on in the war their claims were negligible. Both the United States and Japan refused to ratify the agreement. -
Soviet ¨Superbugs
1979 a rare outbreak of anthrax disease killed nearly 70 people the soviet government blamed contaminated meat but suspected the outbreak was coming from an near by army lab. News of the immensity soviets biological weapons reached the west in 1989. It spread dozens of facilities and the potential remains. -
The Cults
Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh sprinkled salmonellas on salad bars throughout their country. His scheme was to sicken local citizens to prevent them from voting. It was a successful attack it triggered more than 750 cases only 40 required hospitalization. They launched and investigation but concluded that it was a natural outbreak it took them a year to discover the truth. -
Anthrax Letters of 2001
After 9/11 letters have been sent to 5 media outlets & two U.S senators it sent shockwaves through the nation. By the end of the year 22 people been infected & five people died & hundreds of millions were struck by anxiety of the unknown. In 2008 the FBI's resolution of the case suggested that the letters were to cause fear about biological weapons than kill.Were not sure if Irvin was the culprit it still unknown, but whoever did it was someone working inside the army lab.
