These orders were aimed at protecting the rights of the newly freed slaves. They made it so you could not own another person in any way shape or from. This was the single largest and first step for civil right and the next steps didnt come for a long time. -
Plessy V Ferguson
This Supreme Court case “Plessy V Ferguson” challenged the “Seperate but equal” Which made the segregation legal as long as the 2 things were equal. Making Jim Crow laws legal in schools, restaurants, bathrooms, etc. But this court case showed how they were just not equal and they will probably never be. Meaning they were violating the 14 amendment of equal protection. And they won the case -
Brown V Board of Education
A court case of Brown V board of Education made it illegal to seggorate schools. This attempted to change the large gap in funding in black/white schools -

Little Rock 9
The Little Rock 9 were the first group of African American children to go to a de seggorated school. The governor even tried to stop them by ordering the nation guard to stop them. The president didn’t like that and sent the 101st airborne to protect and escort them. This was the first time in history where the government was actually protecting black kids and changed how black children saw the government. -

Blacks who rode into Deep South as a form of protest and got there bus torched. This helped change the view the average white person had on black people it made them see how extreme it was. -

Bussed 1/2 white kids and 1/2 black kids to opposite schools. This actually changed how many black/ white kids went to school the first thing that actually worked -

Legalized biracial marriage this changed the legal side of biracial marriage in the USA but the Social norms were still there -
Voting right act
Made it illegal for the literacy tests to vote this changed the levels of black voters in the USA and gave them the ability to vote. -
James Meredith
First black student to go to the university of Mississippi. This changed how black people saw there change to get into university’s and how the government will again protect them. -

Montgomery Bus Boycott
The Montgomery bus Boycott was an even brought together by MLK to stop using the bus because the majority of the bus riders were black so they lost most of their profit. There goal was to desegorate the busses and it worked. This changed how black people saw there power it proves how much power they have when there together. -

Brock Obama became president. This proved how much change there was in the progress in the civil right front.
