Enlistment
Stewart enlisted for war on the 03 of october 1914, at the time he was twenty six and weighed 16kg and 5 foot 6 inches tall. At the time of his enlistment Stewart was working as a clerk for petty sessions in Maleny. When enlisted Stewart was given the rank of Lance coporal -
Starting out War
Stewart traveled to war on the 22 second of December 1914. lance Corporal Stewart L stormont traveled to war on the 15th battalion, 10 days after embarking Stewart was quickly appointed Corporal for his tremendous efforts on the battle field. -
War
Stewart spent the duration of the war in Constantinople to be tortured and beaten for information on the other side. -
Promotion
Stewart was with his Battalion when he received the promotion of 2nd Lieutenant because of his tremendous work. -
Captured by the turks
Stewart was captured by two armed turks near hill 971 on the 8th of August 1915. Stewart's diary read, I was stripped of my equipment and other personal things. They also have a nasty habit of spitting on one. -
Let Go
Stewart was freed from Constantinople on the 21st of November 1918 he embarked on a journey to England to eventually return to Australia the next year -
Death
Stewart eventually moved to Nambour were he lived out his life with a wife and child. Sadly Stewarts life was cut short on the 13th of September 1935 Stewart sadly committed suicide.
