The First Fleet
The First Fleet consisted of 11 ships. 2 Royal Navy vessels, three ships full of supplies and 6 hulks. The ships first sailed to Rio de Janeiro next to Cape town, then the great southern ocean and finally Botany Bay. The journey took approximately 250 days. -
The Frontier Conflict
The Frontier Conflict happened when the Aboriginal people and the Eurpeans had an argument and started a war. The Aboriginals killed the Europeans' sheep. The most devestating was the Pinjarra Massacre. During the time, The two tribes there worked together to defeat the Eurpeans and reclaim their land. -
The Rum Rebellion
The Rum Rebellion is a rebellion that formed when Governor Bligh was arrested. John Mcarthur persuaded men from New South Wales to fight in the Rebellion. The Rum Rebellion has nothing to do with Rum. This event happened 20 years after Arthur Philip founded the first European settlement in Australia. -

The Australian Gold Rushes were a significant event which helped shape Australia. The Gold Rushes were a time when countries from all over the world came to mine for gold because Edward Hargraves located a lot of gold near a city named Orange. This event ended in 1855. -

The Eureka Stockade was a time when miners fought against the Government to change the law about Gold licenses. James Scobie's murder influenced the Eureka Stockade. The Gold miners instigated a Ballarat Reform League. The Eureka stockade was a battle of The forces of Australia against the Gold miners. -

The Economic Depression was a depression where people couldn't find jobs and most people were poor. The cause of the Economic Depression was the frontier conflict because the people who went to fight against the aboriginals couldn't find good jobs so they were poor.It started in the united states when wall street went into a panic and a lot of people working there had to find another job.
