The Royal Mail Service Titanic had an estimated 2,224 people on it and hit an iceburg. There were not many survivors and there are none still alive today. It changed rules and laws so that other disasters will not have as many deaths and injuries. -

On this day Martin Luther King Jr., a civil rights activist, gave a 17-minute speech about how he wishes that there would be racial equality and to end segregation. It was given at the Washington D.C. Civil Rights March. -
John F. Kennedy Assassination
JFK became president in 1961 and everyone loved him. He was driving in Dallas,Texas and was shot from a building once in the neck, and was called the 'miracle bullet', because he could've survived. But he was shot again in the head and it burst like a melon would. -
Detroit Tigers win the world series of 1984
The Detroit Tigers won the world series for a second time in 1984. The Tiger's record that year was phenomenal. -
Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster
On this day a space shuttle blew up, and it was the first one to have civilians in it. The explosion killed seven crew members and it broke apart after 73 seconds of flight. -

This day made a large impact on America as a whole. Terrorists had plans to kill many innocent people and crash into the World Trade Center Twin Towers. This made a big impact on how security was run, since this day they majorly stepped up airport security and put the fear in people of something like this happening again. When my sister was 11, she got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. This definitely changed her life and made an impact on our family.
