Earlier in Cartwright's life and Concerns
Earlier in life she started out with an interest in math and physics but a strong religious education to follow. She however had a wide range of Interest in her studies. She believes strongly in the movement of philosophy. Well Cartwright was in Stanford during the philosophy movement she mentioned that it was fairly widespread optimistic and drifting slowly away. Nancy Cartwright's Education Experiences
Her education experience was involved at the University Library system, University of Pittsburgh, University of Illinois at Chicago and The University of Chicago. One of her awards was with MacArthur Fellowship. She earned her. BS from the University of Pittsburgh in mathematics and her Ph.D. in philosophy at the University of Illinois at Chicago circle. -
Her Theories and Thoughts
Concerning the physics of long Nancy Cartwright argues that scientific laws have been understood in two very different ways. Sheeps gave descriptions of how nature occurs with an explanation of observed events. She believed that it was more geared empiricist pictures. She says "it's the doctrine more or less that God spoke the predicate calculus. Now the primitive predicate describes sensible properties. -
Nancy's Teaching Experiece
Before anything else in her life happened she taught at the University of Maryland, Stanford, and the London school of Economics. She has held visiting appointments at several credited universities. She cofounded the Centre for Philosophy of Natural and Social science at the LSE and the Centre for Humanities Engaging Science Society. She mentored several students in England and the United States who has also became professionals in philosophy and science. -

Her Husband died in 2004. His name was Stuart Hamshire. She was previously married to Ian Hacking. She has two daughters and a granddaughter. -
Nancy Cartwright's Contributions
Her approach in the philosophy of science is associated with Stanford School of Patrick Suppes, John Dupre, PeterGalison and Ian Hacking. It expressed emphasis on scientific practice as opposed to abstract scientific theories. Her contributions has been toward laws of nature debates, causation, and casual interference, scientific models in natural and social sciences. Her recent works focuses on evidence and its uses to inform policy decisions. -

Her Honors and awards were paramount. Nancy served as the president of the philosophy of science association from 2009 to 2010. She was vice president from 2007 to 2008. She was also president of the Pacific Division of American philosophical Association. -

Cartwright became professor Emeritus at London School of economics. Nancy receive honorable degrees from Southern Methodist University and the University of st. Andrews as well as MacArthur Fellowship. In 2016 she was elected a fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences. -

From a basic Foundation Nancy Cartwright also understood how the structures of scientific theories grew. She was a philosopher of science and professor of philosophy. -
