  • Lev Vygotsky Zone of Proximal Development

Scaffolding! I actually have never heard of this word until now. Scaffolding is a like supporting a child with something, but not doing it for them. What is important to me is that ZPD I feel like can be a theory that is not only true for children, but I feel like it can be true for adults as well. I feel like there is things I can do on my own, things I need someone else’s help with and then things that I am still not capable of. I feel like these things do still impactmy development.
  • Jean Piaget Cognitive Development

This theory has 4 stages. Each stage has a different age group and by the end of it, you are suppose to be at the maximum human intelligence. What is important to me about the theory is that it after going through these levels of development, it is said you can reach intelligence. I just find it hard to believe that there is a certain level of intelligence and that these stages are what get us there.

As a Muslim student, I find that really interesting!
