    A case that african american children be given the opportunity to attend a public school with all white students. The case won and those students were given the same educational opportunity of those students of the white race. This event was a major event that shaped diversity among our nation. It gave the right for African Americans to same educational opportunities as whites.
  • The Coleman Report

    The Coleman Report
    Acessed to see if students from different races, income groups, and national orgins had equal educational opportunities. The report concluded that school is not equalizer but that its the students family background that is the biggest determination of academic success. It was important in the fact that it raised important questions about what was making students succedd and not succedd.

    A Nation at Risk
    A report of the National Commission on Excellence in Education criticized public schools. American students scoring poorly on tests, poor crtical thinking, and lack of support for math and science courses. This is all putting our nation at risk. This article was controversial in regards to the public school system. It raised important questions and put a spotlight on education and the school system.

    These are standards for special educaiton teachers to follow to best serve studentrs with disablities. This is a break through it the way that special education was molded. It gave those students a appropriate education that was based on thier individual needs. There are guidelines that all teachers have to follow.

    This has changed education in many ways than just one. I feel that I have witnessed and observed this law in action. It keeps accountability for public schools, in regards to common core standards being met among all students. It has changed the way public schools are more focused on testing in some aspects. There is more pressure for the school to succedd as a whole.
