Dame Schools were essentially the first type of schools for younger children. This was an important time in history, because it was the beginning of children's education. Starting education young helps the children to learn, develop and grow. It is essential for children to know how to read and it will shape them for the rest of their education life. If it wasn't for Dame Schools, we don't know how those children would have learned the skills they needed for lifelong learning. -

During this period, there was a big rise of public schooling. The first public library was founded during this time. Subjects directed to the lives of the students was founded in many high schools. These are learning essentials that are needed in life which are important. This was a crucial time in history, because it was during this time people recognized the general education and knowledge was a basic necessity for everyone's well being. Schools became a normalcy in many different states. -
N.E.A Committee of Ten
This was an important year in History because it was recommended that school needed to be attended for a certain number of years. Children not only had to learn core subjects at this time, but they were able to choose elective courses. Learning what one is interested is important because it gives learning a fun and enjoyable time. Students should be able to enjoy and have fun in school and this is what help shapes that. It could also help shape students for adulthood and life beyond school. -
Character Education
In the opinion of many, Character Education is important. Some children do not receive the moral values needed at home. There is so much negativity and wrong doing in the world. Every child deserves to learn core values and why they are important to live by. Teachers are able to teach these core values along with academics and it is an essential part of learning for all children. Character education is a foundation that needs to be taught because its important is so greatly effective! -
Horizon Report 2017
The Horizon Report 2017 is an important part of K-12 education because it examines emerging technologies for their impact on and use in teaching, learning, and creative inquiry in schools (NMC, 2017). The reason the Horizon Report is so important is because it keeps us continuously up to date on the future of schools, of technology and trends change, and critical challenges and solutions. Keeping up to date on technology and trends, deeper learning is possible.
