Mills v. The Board of Education of the District of Columbia
Mills stance in this was case was that schools were basically denying students with "impairments or disabilities" their Fourteenth Amendment rights. The Board of Education of the District of Columbia stance was that students who were identified as retarded, disabled or impaired be excluded from schools in Washington D.C. -
Board of Education of Hendrick Hudson Central School District v. Rowley
The school boards stance was that the student in question (Rowley) was not in need of a sign language interpreter since she was able to utilize other services available like FM wireless headphones etc. Rowley was represented by her parents who felt that the services offered were not quite good enough and their daughter still needed a sign language interpreter. -
Honig v. Doe
Honig was named as respondent for San Francisco Unified School District and their stance was that student (Doe) should be discharged from school for behaviors not suitable for school. Doe was a student who qualified for special needs education services and was suspended for longer than 10 days from school due to inability to control emotions and actions and getting into a physical fight.
