    The Albany Plan of Union was a plan to create a unified government for the Thirteen Colonies in Albany Congress on July 10, 1754 in Albany, New York.
    This was the first attempt to centralize the colonies into one government.

    The Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was imposed by Parliament to help reduce war debt for Britain. This taxed paper in the colonies. Everything was taxed including Licenses and Personal Letters.
    This helped fuel the anger to declare independence from Britain.

  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    British Soldiers killed and injured several people in Boston, MA. It was a riot for rebellion against the British. A mob formed around a British Infantryman, who was subjected to harassment. He was eventually supported by eight additional soldiers to help stop the riot. One of the soldiers shot a citizen fueling the riot.

    The British imposed taxes on tea for the colonists. Colonists objected to the Tea Act because they believed that it violated their rights to “No taxation without representation.”
    This was another tax like the stamp act that pushed the colonies to declare independence from the crown.
