    The Declaration of Independence is a historical document that was approved by the Continental Congress. This announced the separation of the 13 North American British Colonies from Great Britain. This allowed the colonies to be free and independent states. This is why on the 4th of July we celebrate the "Fourth of July", known as Independence day In America.

    The United States constitution was the setting up a supreme law of the land, this was super important because of the establishment of the government. This also protects and sets up the rights of the citizens.

    The great Awakening was a religious revival in the English American colonies in the early 1800's. The idea of secular rationalism was brought to their attention and the passion towards religion was stale. Christian leaders began traveling and spreading the word of Jesus to people in the colonies. This resulted in a growth of the Christian religion.

    The Louisiana Purchase was the buying of the western half of the Mississippi river. This was a big impact because it doubled the size of the United States, provided more land, and western expansion was occurring.

This was a law the Native tribes had to follow. The president had granted land western that the native tribes agreed to move to.

    The Dred Scott Case was a case that was brought from a slave to the Supreme Court to be determined. Dred Scott was a free slave that had been freed. The supreme court pretty much didn't care and considered him still a slave.

    Abraham Lincoln as president and played a huge role into the civil war by establishing that slavery should be knocked out of the United States.in the American Civil War, leading the Union forces to victory with his primary goal being to preserve the Union, even if it meant initially allowing slavery to continue, but ultimately contributing significantly to its abolition through the Emancipation Proclamation as the war progressed. He ended slavery in the U.S.
