Death
On March 13th, 2016, Hilary Putnam died. Putnam left this world as with a string of philosophical successes, making his mark on the scientific community as a whole. While he is best known for his work on semantic externalism, he made major contributions to; metaphysics, epistemology, the philosophy of mind, the philosophy of language, the philosophy of mathematics, the philosophy of science, and the philosophy of logic.
