compact disks- or CD's were created in 1982. CD players origially were about $900 and the CD's themselves costed about $30 each. the band ABBA was the first band to produce their music on a compact disk. -

camcorders were invented in 1983 by Jerome H Lemelson. in 1989, the "handcam" came out and was a popular, small video camera that was able to fit in your hand instead of sitting on your shoulder. -

The new Nintendo Gameboy came out in 1989. The gaming system originally costed $90 and lasted 10-12 hours before needing to be charged again. The new device became very popular and more than 118 million systems were sold around the world. -

Automatic doors started becoming more and more popular in the 90's. There used to be a mat in front that would open the door when weight was applied to it. Now days, there's a sensor that tracks movement. -
Cell Phones
The cell phone was a popular really became popular in 1990. in 1983, Motorola released its first cell phones and were made and were selling for about $4,000 each! They could hold up to 30 phone numbers and they had 30 minutes of talk-time.
