Might and Magic Creation
This year the Might and Magic saga was created by Jon Van Caneghem with his company New World Computing. This saga takes place in the same universe as the Heroes of Might and Magic saga, but not on the same planet. -
Heroes of Might and Magic: A Strategic Quest
HoMM talks us about Lord Morglin "Ironfist". He is forced to leave his natal world, called Varn, because his cousin Ragnar has stolen the throne from his father, the successor of Varn. This is because the Ragnar's dad(his uncle) has killed his father. He goes through a magical portal and ends up in a strange land called Enroth. This land has no king and for Lord Moglin to become its ruler he will need to defeat the three other warlords: Lord Slayer, Queen Lamanda and Lord Alamar. -
Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession Wars
After Lord Morglin Ironfist's victory, he makes of Enroth a whole nation that he rules. When he dies, the throne relies on his two sons, Archibald and Roland. These two fight for the crown and Archibald orders Roland's exile. While he is declared the new king, Roland creates a resistance. In the game there are two endings for each brother resulting victorious, but the cannonical ending results in Roland's victory when his court wizard turns Archibald into Stone. -
Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Restoration of Erathia
When King Roland dissappears, his wife, Queen Catherine, is left as the ruler. At the same time, his father (the king of Erathia) is murdered and the dark forces of Nighon and Eeofol take control over Erathia. She returns home to try to get back what has been stolen. Her first task is to retake the areas in the west, like Steadwick. After that a commander from the Eeofol armies sends troops to Erathia with the excuse that Roland has appeared. Catherine pushes the Dungeon armiestogetthecrownback. -
Heroes of Might and Magic IV
AvLee (Allie from Queen Catherine)'s Forest Guard attacks Kilgor, the King of Krewlod to try and destroy the Sword of Frost so it doesn't clash in battle against the Armageddon's Blade. The prophecy said if these two weapons are used against eachother, a massive explosion would take place. AvLee's Forest Guard fails in his mission, but some of the habitants escape through portals that lead to Axeoth. In this game, there are six campaigns that lead to a different ending in this new universe. -
Heroes of Might and Magic V
HoMM V presents us the land of Ashan, created by Asha, the god dragon of Order. Asha has a brother, Urgash, the god dragon of Chaos, which she is against. This timeline has three Ages, the Mythic Age, the Ancient Age and the one HoMM V takes place in, Historical Age. In the Mythic Age, the two siblings fight to save their world from destruction. On the next Age, Asha unites every race under her rule in the Shantiri Empire. Then, this Empire is destroyed by a war that leads to the Historical Age -
Heroes of Might and Magic VI
This game takes place on the continent of Thallan. Ashan is populated by 11 different areas, most of them with their worship centralized around a dragon god of an element (sons of Asha). There are some exceptions like the Wizards of the Seven Cities that are atheist. One day, there is a conflict between the followers of the Dragon of Light and the Dragon of Darkness that terrorizes all the population. And for more difficulties, demons invade and devast everything when eclipses take place. -
Heroes of Might and Magic VII
HoMM VII takes place 200 years after the war from the previous game. It follows Ivan Griffin, Duke of Griffin Duchy, in his mission of seeking the crown after the dissolution of the Falcon Empire. But to get it he will need a force of armies and it must be the best one Asha has ever seen. -
Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era
This game was announced at Gamescom in August from this year. They haven't published the release date, but they will make sure we have at least an early access by the 30th anniversary from the first HoMM game. Also, its very inspired in the best game of the saga, HoMM III
