    King Henry the VIII was born on June 28, 1491. His parents were King Henry the VII and Elizabeth of York. As a child, he was very smart and was also athletic.

    King Henry the VIII and Jane Seymour met in September of 1535, when the king was staying at her family home. People knew that King Henry the VIII had fallen for her in Febuary of 1536. Within 24 hours after Henry's second wife was killed, he was betrothed to Jane. Jane became pregnant with the King's son, Edward, in early 1537. Just two weeks after Edward was born, Jane died.     King Henry and Anne of Cleves were not married for a very long time. The King had painters to bring him back paintings future wives. When he saw the painting of Anne of Cleves, he thought she was beautiful. When they were married on January 6, 1540, he was already looking for a way to get out of the marriage because she was not as pretty in person as she was in the painting.     On July 12, 1543, King Henry the VIII married his sixth and final wife. They were married for five years before he died. She treated all of Henry's children very well and helped with education some too. King Henry the VIII died on January 28, 1547. A few months after Henry died, she secretly married Thomas Seymour.     King Henry and his fifth wife, Kathryn Howard were married on July 28, 1540. They were married just days after he divorced his fourth wife. They were not married a full year before rumors of Kathryn having affairs began to rise. Henry did not want to believe this, but he let the investigation continue; eventually there was enough evidence to prove that she was having affairs on her husband.     King Henry the VIII lived for fifty-six years. In these years, he had six wives and three children. He was very fat and had a bad leg that caused him to have pain in it until he died. To this day, people still do not know if died of an illness or of syphilis. King Henry died on January 28, 1547.
