Henry Ford

    Henry was born on a farm in Dearborn, Michigan. He was born to William and Mary Ford. Henry had four siblings, Margeret, Jane, William, and Robert.
    This is significant because Henry later goes on to create the worlds first car assembly line.

  • First Car

    Built his first car in his shed in his backyard. This took him two years to build. He named the it the Quadricycle.
    This is significant because this was the start to Fords success.

  • Detroit motor company created

    Henry created the detroit motor company. But this soon failed and henry went back to the drawing board. It failed because the company didnt have much puplicity, which the other other companies did.
    Thiis significant because it showed that Ford was not always successful and he did not give up.

  • Americas first Submarine

    The submarine was designed by an Irish immigrant named John P. Holland. This submarine was powered by gasoline. When the US bought a submarine they named it the USS Holand.
    This is important because the US now have a submarine for WW1.

  • Ford Motor Company established

    Ford was the only and first company to use an aassembly line to make their automoiles. The Ford motor company is still aroud today. They have inspired many other companies to use the assembly line to mass produce cars.

    Ford came out with the first model A. The model A had been made from 1903-04. This was later remade.

  • Drove over 90mph

    Ford was the first person to drive over 90mph. He did this in a race. When he did this he receive popularity with his car making skills.

  • Signing of the Entente Cordiale

    The Entente Cordiale is a series of 8 agreements. These agreements were between the united kingdom and France. Eventually became a part of a triple entente between th UK, France, and Russia.
    This was iimportant because it gave France some security against Germany and its aliances.

  • Production of the Model T

    The Model T was Fords second vehicle. Starting price was $850. The modle T was also know as the "Tin Lizzie".
    This was significant because it showed that ford was ccapable of making more than one car.

  • Assassination of the Archduke Ferdinand

    Archduke Ferdinand was the heir to the throne of Austria. He was shot in the neck and died and hour later. His wife tried to save him by throwing herself upon him but failed.
    This was important because he was a leader.

  • Prohibition

    The 18th amendment was ratified. This amendment banned the manufacture and selling of intoxicating liquors. This also closed every bar in the US.

  • Model T Production ENDED

    There wer 15 illion Model T's made from 1908 to 1927. The Model T's were made in Detroit and Highland Park, Michigan. As well as a Ford plant in Manchester, England.
    This is significant because Ford ended production of one of his cars.

    Paavo Nurmi runs a world record. He runs 2000m: 5:24.6. He was nicknamed "Flying Finn".

  • New Model A makes appearance

    This model A now had five different body styles. During the years sales hit three million. Prices ranged from $500 to $1200.
    This is important because the Model A was one of the most popular cars for middle class people.

    Ford died at age 84. He died from a fatal stroke. He had died where he had been born in Dearborn, Michigan.
    This is significant because Ford had been a successful and smart car maker.
