Henry Ford was born on July 30, 1863 in Wayne County, Michigan to parents William and Mary Litogot Ford. William Ford was an Irish-Canadian-American businessman and was the father of Ford Motor Company founder Henry Ford. His mother, Mary Litogot Ford was a foster daughter of Patrick Ahern & Margaret Stevens who became an "acknowledged child" at age three. Tom Morris wins his first golf championship.
During the life of Henry Ford, famous golfer Tom Morris won his first gold championship in 1866. Tom was known as "Old Tom" to distinguish himself from his son. Captain Alfred Dreyfus found guilty of espionage.
While Henry Ford was 31 years old, Captain Alfred Dreyfus of France was found guilty of espionage. This is an important event because he was a French military leader and everyone was shocked at the first sight. The Captain denied his guilt and his family supported him. Ford finishes his first automobile called the "Quadricyle".
In 1896 Ford finished his first automobile called the "Quadricycle". This is important because it was his first car and it was the start to his engineering career. Hawaiian Annexation.

The Johnstown Flood.
During the life of Henry Ford the South Fork Dam in Pennsylvania fell over causing Johnstown to flood. This is a very important event because Johnstown was home to over 30,000 people. The flood killed more than 2,200 people and was extremely devastating. (History.com) -
South Africa Boer War ends.
During the life of Henry Ford the South Africa Boer War started and also ended. The war ended on May 31, 1902. This is a significant event because the Peace of Vereeniging was singed ending a three and a half year war between The Boers and Britain. The War started when they discovered gold and diamonds. Britain and the Boers were neighbors and they started invading each others territories creating minor fighting until 1899 when full scale war was set off. (History.com) -

Ford releases the Model T
In 1908 Ford releases the Model T Ford. This was the car that could help revolutionize a peoples way of life. Although it was imperfect the car was a great car for all around. Henry coined the slogan "The Universal Car". You could modify the Model T to plow the fields with it on weekends and still go country-riding on Sundays. It was a very simple car to fix. Ford announces five dollar per eight hour work day.
January 5, 1914 Ford announces his idea of a five dollar pay per eight hours of work. Not only did he double the amount of money for pay but he also decreased an hour of work. Ford makes the first Ford pickup truck.
In January 1925, Henry Ford released his first pickup truck.It was known as the "Model T Runabout with Pickup Body" and was priced at 281$. The buyers liked that the bed was 56 inches long, 40 inches wide, and 13 inches wide. This was significant because it was the first pickup truck the Ford Motor Company made. Ford builds an airplane.

Ford puts out a V-8 engine.
March 31, 1932 Ford put out a V-8 engine. This is an important event because experts thought this was impossible at the time. When it was introduced to the public it was a big seller. Ford wanted to build a six cylinder engine but he didn't want to be an industry follower he wanted to be an industry leader so he came out with a reasonably priced Ford V-8 engine. Invasion of the Soviet Union.
One of the worst events that occurred during the life of Henry Ford was WWII. In June 1940, Hitler invaded the Soviet Union. This was the first of many raids from Adolf Hitler in the Soviet Union. Henry Ford dies.
On April 7, 1947 Henry Ford, known as one of the greatest leaders in the motor industry, was taken to a new life. He passed away in Fair Lane, Dearborn, Michigan. Ford was 83 years old when he died. This is a significant event because Ford was considered one of America's leading businessmen, and is credited today for helping to build America's economy during the nation's vulnerable early years.
