    In 1990 philosopher of science, Helen Longino, published her first book called Science as Social Knowledge: Values and Objectivity in Scientific Inquiry. The basis of the book discusses the idea that any "methodology powerful enough to account for theories" is likely but outside influences from our societies and cultures. It also addresses "research programs that have drawn criticism from feminists".

    Helen Longino is "C. I. Lewis Professor in Philosophy at Stanford University and recently completed her term as President of the Philosophy of Science Association." She will has also been selected to "give the 2021 Romanell Lecture on Philosophical Naturalism". She continues to make an impact in the philosophy of science with her work on epistemology.
