Hagrid delivers Harry to Dumbledore in Privet Drive
Hagrid arrives with Harry on Sirius´s flying motorbike. Dumbledore is waiting in Privet Drive to leave the baby with the Dursleys. -
Harry is left on the doorstep
After Voldemort kills Lily and James Potter and is defeated by baby Harry, Hagrid retrieves Harry and they travel by Sirius’ flying motorbike from Godric’s Hollow to Little Whinging. Harry is asleep by the time they meet Professors Dumbledore and McGonagall outside of Number Four, Privet Drive, the home of Lily’s sister and her family. Despite McGonagall’s and Hagrid’s worries, Dumbledore produces an explanatory note and leaves baby Harry to grow up in the Muggle world. -
Harry attends Muggle primary school
Harry attends primary school beginning in 1985. He is laughed at because of his oversized clothes and taped glasses, and ignored because none of the other kids will brave Dudley´s gang to befriend him. On one occasion he inexplicably finds himself on top of the school kitchen when he was being chased by Dudley’s gang. -
Dudley’s eleventh birthday - Trip to the zoo
Harry unknowingly uses Parseltongue to communicate with a boa constrictor. However, when Dudley notices and comes running, the glass of the snake´s enclosure disapears and the snake escapes. -
A barrage of letters
When their home at number four, Privet Drive, gets bombed with letters, uncle Vernon has had enough. He packs everyone into the car and drives around for hours. The family ends up in Cokeworth and stay the night in a hotel. -
Hagrid buys Harry his first owl
While Hagrid and Harry is in Diagon Alley for Harry´s school things, Hagrid purchases a white owl and presents it to Harry as his birthday gift. -
Harry gets help to find platform nine and Three-Quarters
Molly Weasley notices that he appears a bit lost, so she tells him that he must run straight into a metal barrier. By this point, Harry has witnessed enough magic and takes her at her word. -
Harry´s first Quidditch match
Harry’s friends in the audience support him with a banner reading “Potter for President” and cheering him on. Quirrell tries to knock Harry off his broom during the match but Snape’s countercurse prevents it from happening. Thinking Snape is the one trying to knock Harry off his broom, Hermione goes to distract him. Along the way, she really does stop the jinx when she knocks over Professor Quirrell. Harry catches the Snitch in his mouth, and by doing that he secures a Gryffindor victory. -
Harry receives the Invisibility Cloak
Harry receives a gift completely out of the ordinary, a invisibility cloak earlier belonging to his father. -
Harry discovers the Mirror of Erised
Harry slips into an unused classroom to avoid being caught by Filch and Snape. Inside the classroom is a tall, ornate mirror. When Harry looks in it, he sees his parents and generations of his family. He hears a noise so i hurries off to his dormitory, but not before taking a really goodbye to his family. -
Harry gets rescued
Harry and Draco are on a walk in the Forbidden Forest along with Fang when they view a monstrous hooded creature beside a dead unicorn drinking the animal’s blood. As the creature turns to stare at them and then crawls towards them, Draco screams and runs away with Fang, and while they run Harry feels a burst of pain in his forehead scar. At that moment, the centaur named Firenze leaps over Harry and chases away the unicorn’s killer. -
Harry confronts Quirrell and defeats Voldemort
Harry is shocked to find that Quirrell (and not Snape) has been trying to kill him and get the Philosopher’s Stone. Quirrell tries to use the Mirror of Erised to find the Stone but the Mirror gives it Harry. Realizing that Harry has the Stone, Voldemort has Quirrell reveal him. Voldemort has Quirrell physically attack Harry, but Quirrell’s skin burns when it comes in contact with Harry’s. Harry defends himself by placing his hands on Quirrell´s face.
