The soon-to-be legend Harry Potter was born on July 31st, the same day as his creator, J.K. Rowling. -
Harry Potter Orphaned and Scarred
Lord Voldemort murdered Lily and James Potter, orphaning a young Harry. Through the magic of love (cheesy but true), Harry survived being attacked by Voldemort, with only a scar on his forehead in the shape of a lightning bolt. Voldemort's curse backfired, basically causing him to be in a ghostly state for many years. This event in history gained him the nickname of "The Boy Who Lived" in the wizarding world. Sadly, Harry was sent to his Aunt and Uncle, who wanted nothing to do with wizards. -

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone
Harry befriends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.
Harry discovers that Voldemort is slowly returning.

Harry saves Ginny from a basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets.
Harry destroys Tom Riddle's diary, Voldemort's first Horcrux (an extension of the soul).
The Sword of Gryffindor is discovered and used to kill the basilisk.
The Sword of Gryffindor absorbs the qualities of basilisk venom, allowing it to destroy future Horcruxes.
This year was somewhat important to the plot of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. -

Harry's 3rd Year at Hogwarts
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry meets his father's two best friends, Remus Lupin and Sirius Black.
Harry Potter receives the Marauder's Map, which shows the layout of Hogwarts and the location of everyone on the school grounds.
Peter Pettigrew, a follower of Voldemort (Death Eater) and the one who gave him the location of the Potters, is revealed by Sirius.
Pettigrew flees to find Voldemort and help bring him back to strength.
This year was somewhat important to the Cursed Child. -

Harry's 4th Year at Hogwarts
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Harry and Cedric Diggory selected from Hogwarts to participate in the Triwizard Tournament.
School year lasted longer due to Triwizard Tournament.
Cedric Diggory killed.
Hermione and Ron go to the Yule Ball with other people. They then realize that they love each other.
This year is very important to the plot of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. -
1st Triwizard Tournament Task
The first task of the Triwizard Tournament. The wizards had to get an egg from a dragon. Cedric and Harry both advanced to the next round. -
2nd Triwizard Tournament Task
The second task of the Triwizard Tournament. The wizards had to dive deep into a lake in order to rescue someone they loved. Harry and Cedric both advanced to the next task. -
3rd Triwizard Tournament Task
The third and final task of the Triwizard Tournament. The wizards had to go through a dangerous labyrinth in order to reach the Triwizard Cup. Harry and Cedric both grabbed the Cup at the same time. The Cup, however, was a Portkey (basically a teleporter), and Cedric and Harry appeared in front of Pettigrew and Voldemort. Cedric was killed, and Voldemort returned to power. -

The Order of the Phoenix
Harry and his cousin Dudley get attacked by dementors, beings who feed on the sadness and fear of humans. Harry defends them with a charm, and soon after meets, unbeknownst to him, The Order of the Phoenix. They take Harry, and he learns more about them. -

Harry's 5th Year at Hogwarts
Dolores Umbrige replaced Dumbledore.
Hogwarts became darker.
Those who supported Dumbledore were punished (sometimes severely).
The Ministry of Magic slowly became corrupted.
Harry starts Dumbledore's Army, to fight against the darkness in Hogwarts.
Te Battle at the Ministry ensued.
Sirius died.
This year is not important in the plot of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. -
Destruction of a Horcrux
Sometime in July (date unknown), Dumbledore destroys the Horcrux on Marvolo Gaunt's Ring, destroying the second Horcrux and part of Voldemort's soul. -

Harry discovered what Horcruxes were.
Ron destroyed Salazar Slytherin's Locket, the third Horcrux.
Dumbledore was murdered by Snape.

Battle at Hogwarts
Hermione destroyed Helga Hufflepuff's Cup, the fourth Horcrux.
Vincent Crabbe, a Death Eater, accidentally destroyed Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem, the fifth Horcrux, in an out of control, extremely strong fire.
Neville Longbottom kills Nagini, the sixth Horcrux.
Voldemort "kills" Harry, destroying his last Horcrux.
Harry, the Master of Death, was revived.
Harry and Voldemort dueled, Voldemort lost.
Voldemort died.

Delphini Riddle/Lestrange is Born
Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange have a child.The exact date is unknown, but it is before May 2. -

Albus Potter, Scorpius Malfoy, and Rose Granger-Weasley are Born

These years are irrelevant. Albus and Scorpius are put into Slytherin and Albus gets angrier with life. He starts to hate being the son of Harry Potter. -
Albus, Delphi, and Scorpius Steal a Time-Turner
Albus and Delphi (who pretended to be a Diggory) met and devised a plan to save Cedric Diggory. Them, along with Scorpius, broke into the Ministry of Magic and stole a Time-Turner. A Time-Turner allows them to travel back in time.
