  • Birth of Araminta Ross

    Araminta Ross, or Harriet Tubman, was born a slave and raised on Maryland's Eastern Shore where the lines between slavery and freedom were often blurred. Araminta Ross had many first names, such as Minty, Moses, and Harriet. This is because Harriet Tubman was revered amongst other slaves, mainly because she was able to escape southern souths via the underground railroad
  • Araminta Ross marries

    Araminta Ross marries John Tubman, and then changes her name to Harriet Tubman. John Tubman later died, and Harriet Tubman remarried
  • Harriet Tubman escapes her plantation

    Harriet Tubman escaped her plantation, and went on to help hundrends of slaves escape through the Underground railroad, and changed the lives of many families
  • Harriet Tubman completes her first rescue

    Harriet Tubman successfull escaped the plantation that once was her home, and brought slaves with her. This is one of many times she revisited the plantation to save slaves.

  • Harriet Tubman Rescues her parents

    Harriet Tubman rescued many people from plantations, but some of the most important to her are her parents. In 1857, on her third trip back to the plantation, Harriet Tubman managed to successfully rescue her parents from the plantation.
  • Harriet Tubman lived in Canada

    Harriet Tubman moved to Canada, but eventually moved back to the U.S after the Civil War, and managed to help even more slaves escape.

    Araminta Ross, or Harriet Tubman marries her first husband, Nelson Davis, who was later sold to another plantation~MORE
  • Gertie Davis is born

    Gertie Davis is Harriet Tubmans daughter, and her father is Nelson Davis. Nelson Davis was Harriet's second husband
  • Harriet Tubman dies

    After a lifetime of helping people escape from slavery, Harriet Tubman dies in 1913, in Auburn, NY. She died of pneumonia, and her last words were, "I go to prepare a place for you"
