George and Hana’s grandmother, Emma, comes to Theresienstadt but dies of illness three months later. It is a sad time for both George and Hana.

Hana is sent to Auschwitz and is sent to a gas chamber where she is killed. She and George never reunited. It was sad for George hearing that his sister Hana died.

George moves to Toronto, he gets married and has 3 boys and 1 girl. Then later, he starts a plumbing business with another Holocaust survivor.

Fumiko sends George a letter telling him that she came across his sister, Hana’s suitcase, and how it intrigues Fumiko and the kids who visit the Tokyo Holocaust Museum.

Fumiko visits the Auschwitz Museum and asks if the museum can loan her some objects that belonged to kids in the death camp.
