King Hamlet has been murdered by his own brother. King Hamlet´s ghost speaks to his son, the Prince, to ask him to take revenge. -

Laertes and Ophelia are siblings. Their father, Polonius, is the King's advisor. Ophelia and Hamlet love each other, but Hamlet is acting very strangely after his father's death. In addition, they are not allowed to be together as Ophelia has no royal blood. -

Claudius is praying to God as he regrets having killed his brother, the former King. Prince Hamlet was about to kill Claudius and fulfill the promise of revenge, but he decided not to do it while Claudius is asking for forgiveness to God because his soul would go to Heaven. -
