Exposition 1: Backround
Ben Tomlin and his family just moved to Victoria, Canada. He just turned thirteen. His Father Richard Tomlin is a behavioral Scientist. Zan the chimp was just an experiment for his dad to see if animals can interact with humans if they are raised as a normal human baby. The Tomlins planned to teach him sign language -
Conflict
Many people do not believe in Zan and do not believe he will be able to learn sign language. -
Rising Action 1
The Tomlins bring home the baby chimp Zan on Ben's thirteenth birthday. -
Rising Action 2
Ben isn't interested with the project. Ben's Dad hires students to help with the project.Zan's favorite student is Peter. -
Rising Action 3
The Tomlins go to a cookout party and interact with there new neighbors. Ben Starts school and becomes closer with Jennifer ,one of his friends sister. He makes a lot of new friends at his school. -
Rising Action 4
Time Magazine comes to do a story on Zan and spread the word about him. -
Rising Action 5
Ben's dad buys a learning chair for Zan to see if it controls him better. He ends up biting one of the students fingers. -
Rising Action 6
CBS news comes to do a story no Zan and how he bit the students finger. With all of the extra money the Tomlins have been getting, his dad bought a mercedes. -
Climax
The tomlins decide to sell Zan because they can not afford to keep him and he is getting to big for the house. They decided to stop the project. -
Falling Action 1
the Tomlins find a ranch for Zan to go to and stat at. Ben is really upset that his "brother" is leaving. -
Falling Action 2
The Tomlins head off to the ranch with Zan. Once they arrive the man there they think is very strange. -
Falling Action 3
The tomlins leave the Peter at the ranch with Zan to keep him company. They are scared especially Ben of what is going to happen to Zan. -
Falling Action 4
Ben returns to school and is really upset. Hemisses Zan and thinks of it as losing a family member. -
Falling Action 5
The school year ends and the Tomlins go to visit Zan because he is having problems. The man in charge of the ranch was planning to sell Zan. -
Resolution 1
the Tomlins stole Zan back because they did not want him to end up in a lab being tested. -
Resolution 2
Zan is returned home and the man from the ranch realizes that Zan is missing. The Tomlins raised funds to buy Zan back and bought Zan back for one dollar because of laws. -
Resolution 3
Ben and Zan ran away from home because Ben did not want Zan to go to a different sancutuary he wanted them to stay together. The next day they went home and took Zan to the sancutuary. were there was no testing just many chmps playing.
