Separates from Fox’s administration due to the breach of several environmental agreements. -
PRI and PV
Makes a coalition with PRI, which results in the gain of 17 places in the Chamber of Deputies and 5 in the Senate. -
“El Niño Verde”
President of the party, Jorge “El Niño Verde” González is exposed illegally negotiating permission processes for a touristic complex in Cancún, Quintana Roo for an amount of 2 million dollars. -
Death penalty propose
During intermediate campaign, promotes the death penalty for rapists and kidnappers, to extend scholar hours for children with worker parents and free medicaments. -
Expulsion from green parties
A month after the death penalty proposal, “El Partido Verde Europeo (European Green Party)” does not recognizes PVEM as part of their family and asks Green Global to analyze the expel of this party too due to the fact that they are supporting the death penalty, which contradicts the ideals of a green party. -
Corruption in elections
The current leader of the PVEM, Arturo Escobar y Vega was arrested while traveling from Chiapas to Mexico City, with a suitcase containing one million pesos in cash two days before the elections will be held. -
