  • Niels Bohr (1885-1962) Entry #4

Niels Bohr's contribution to chemistry was amending the Periodic Table of Elements. Originally developed by Dmitrii Mendeleev, Bohr modified the table of elements by applying Quantum Theory to it in 1922. Referencing Bohr's theory of correspondence, two differing viewpoints can work together to help form a fuller picture. In this case, Mendeleev was not privy to quantum theory at all. Yet from two ways of thought, a clearer picture can be drawn.
