Ionian War/Revolt 499 - 488 BCE
The Ionian war was the first war between Greece and Persia. It Started in 499 BCE and it continued for 11 years. The war stated because an awful man called Cyrus ruled the citizens of Persia captured the land of Lydia. He raised the taxes and captured many small Greek islands and all of Egypt, The war ended when the Ionians were defeated in battle and the land was conquered. -
The First Persian War 493 - 492 BCE
When the Ionian revolt ended, the greedy Darius wanted more, he wanted to expand his empire. He defeated all the remaining revolt and then took charge into some islands which were East Aegean and the Propontis. Hippias, a brave man, visited many people in Attica with high hopes that they could help he overthrow Darius. -
